Emotions - My Daily Check In - Little spot of feelings inspired
Inspired by Diane Alber’s series of a little spot of feelings I created this daily check in to have on each student’s table so that they can become more aware of their feelings and also allow me to see how they are feeling without it being overly obvious to everyone else. This is for my SEN students who find communication a real challenge.
I have two versions, one which includes weather icons to help support student’s understanding.

A fun way of getting into the merry season and it keeps them off their screens!
It’s a playful way of learning and could even be used for cover lessons or a reward at the end of a lesson!
I think learning through games is so beneficial and who doesn’t love a card game?!
This pack includes 31 cards with 6 images on each card. Print this as many times as you like to create a few packs!
PRINT, CUT AND PLAY!
(Instructions provided for print settings)
How does it work? It is a snap style game. Every card has one matching icon on it and there are a few ways of playing it, whether that be trying to collect as many cards as possible or getting rid of your cards in hand. Students call out the matching icon on their top card and the card everyone is looking at. The game comes with instructions, for example: PLAY THIS WAY: Deal out all, but 1, of the cards to all players leaving one in the center of the playing area, with the pictures face up. Each player must then find the identical symbol between their card and the card in the center of the table (on the draw pile). If a player finds an identical symbol, they shout out the matching symbol and then they put down that card in the center, revealing a new card to be matched up. The player who gets rid of their cards first, wins!
